Using the Trend Direction indicator- VP's Indicator Profile Series (Post 2023-08-24)
The Trend Direction indicator works exactly like a Baseline but as we intend to use the indicator as main Confirmation (C1) and not as Baseline the question arises:
How to test it on the NNFX Algo Tester?
In fact, none of the Custom Options fit the way we want it to work:
The line crosses the price upwards -> Sell Signal
The line crosses the price downwards->Buy Signal
Then we can use the INTERMEDIATE tool to adapt the indicator operation and make it compatible with NNFX Algo Tester.
Example 4 ("Use a Baseline as C1 indicator") shows how to do this. And after making the necessary changes to the INTERMEDIATE we can test the Trend Direction indicator in the NNFX Algo Tester. See the images below.
Note: Must install the "INTERMEDIATE - trend-direction-indicator" and the "trend-direction-indicator" indicators together on the MT4.
To backtest the indicator you can use the following configuration:

Pro Tip: You can use the indicator as Baseline using the CUSTOM BASELINE option, like this: true,40,9,3.0,0;trend-direction-indicator;1
