NNFX Algo Tester Help

How do I set up an indicator already included in the software?

The NNFX Algo Tester software includes several indicators popular with and/or recommended by NNFX Traders. This allows for quick setup and does not require the indicator to be installed on the MT4.

To configure an indicator already included in the software, please note the following:

  • Before adding an included indicator to your algorithm, take a look here: https://nnfxalgotester.com/help/included-indicators/
On these pages, more information is available on how the indicator is prepared to work in the software. The default settings are listed, and download links for the indicators are provided if you want to store them separately.

  • Select your indicators by double-clicking in the right-hand column opposite the indicator type (ATR, BASELINE, etc.) and choosing from the dropdown list.

  • If you want to use the indicator's default configuration, you can leave the respective "Indicators Parameters" field empty. Otherwise, put here the specific configuration of the indicator you want to use. The configuration of the included indicators includes Inputs, Levels and MAs, in this order and separated by semicolons. If you only want to modify levels or MAs but keep the default input values then you must start the configuration with a semicolon ";".

  • If you want to change any of the indicator's default inputs, you must include all the inputs, including those that will remain unchanged. (This is different from custom indicators, when to change any input you only need to give the inputs that precede the one(s) you are changing.)

  • When configuring included indicators, there is no need to include the name of the indicator or its buffer numbers. (These are necessary only for custom indicators.)

  • Indicator configurations vary. In some indicators it is possible to modify only the inputs; in some it is possible to add two levels; in others only one level; and in others it is possible to add a MA. All parameters must follow a standard format, and you can learn more about each indicator parameter (Inputs, Levels or MAs) in its specific sections on the help pages.
